Dangdut music has been a big part of Cita Citata’s career for more than a decade. His popular songs—such as The pain is here And Goyang Dumang— not only dominated the local music charts, but also made him one of the icons of modern dangdut. However, recently, Cita made a decision that surprised many fans: she decided to “factory reset” aka start a new chapter in her life as Cita Rahayu—her real name and the name she chose to undergo this big change in her career.

This decision first emerged when Cita spoke openly in an interview with the media. He explained that after years of struggling in the dangdut music industry, he felt the need to return to his roots, reorganizing his vision of life and the art he brought with him.
