“PPDI Cup I Wonogiri 2025, Jatisrono Becomes New History” – Gentara

Saturday, November 29 2025 will be a historic day for the world of village government in Wonogiri Regency. At Tengklik Field, Tanjungsari Village, Jatisrono District, the first football tournament for village officials was held – PPDI Cup I. 12 teams from village officials in various sub-districts in this district take part.

From Idea to Kick-off: Sport to Strengthen Brotherhood

Initially, this initiative emerged as an effort to strengthen ties of brotherhood between village officials, as well as providing a positive space for them to socialize outside of government routines. The head of the organizers stated that apart from sports, the PPDI Cup also aims to encourage healthy lifestyles and build a sense of togetherness across sub-districts.

On opening day, the atmosphere was full of enthusiasm and emotion. Also present was the Regional Head — Setyo Sukarno as Regent along with the Deputy Regent, DPRD officials, as well as local government figures and various sub-district heads from participating sub-districts. The presence of these top regional officials demonstrated strong support for the event; The Regent even carried out the official kick-off as a symbol of the start of the tournament.

Not only village officials, this event also involved the younger generation – children from the Football School (SSB) also attended to enliven the tournament, watch the matches and experience the atmosphere of the competition. It is hoped that this will inspire the next generation in the world of local football.

Competitive Atmosphere & Spirit of Sportsmanship

The opening match brought together teams from two sub-districts: PPDI Jatiroto District against PPDI Girimarto. The match was fierce and attracted the attention of local residents, even outside the team – as a spectacle and entertainment for the community. In this match, PPDI Girimarto won 2–0 and advanced to the next round.

Furthermore, the plan is that the tournament will continue in a knockout system, with all teams fighting for the championship title. But what is more important: the atmosphere of solidarity, friendship and a spirit of togetherness that emerges from village officials – a rare and positive sight in this routine period of public administration and services.

More Than Just Football: Social & Community Meaning

For many people, PPDI Cup I is more than just a tournament. This event is a symbol of transformation — that village officials can unite through sport, away from daily bureaucratic work. Through sport, a space for healthy recreation, familiarity and a sense of togetherness is created.

The Regency PPDI Chair hopes that this tournament can become a regular annual agenda, as a way to strengthen solidarity between village officials, as well as giving a new color to sports in Wonogiri.

Through this tournament, Jatisrono District is now recorded as a historical witness to the birth of a new sporting tradition within the Wonogiri village apparatus. Enthusiasm, laughter, healthy competition and solidarity – all of this is capital for PPDI Cup I to grow big in the future.
