605 Outstanding Youth in Wonogiri Receive Scholarships, District Government Disburses IDR 7.5 Billion in Funds

Thursday evening, November 27 2025, the atmosphere in Pendapa, Wonogiri Regency was full of hope. Hundreds of students sat in rows, their faces smiling — because that night they officially received scholarships from the regional government. As much 605 outstanding youth and students from Wonogiri Regency successfully passed the selection and was entitled to receive a scholarship worth the amount IDR 7.5 billion.

This scholarship program is part of an annual series: 2025 marks the 10th implementation of the achievement scholarship scheme in Wonogiri. For almost a decade, a total of thousands of students have been helped through this program, as a form of the District Government’s commitment to supporting the younger generation to pursue higher education without the burden of large costs.

Tight Selection, High Expectations

Of the thousands of applicants – when the selection process opened – only 605 students ultimately passed. Of that number, 185 are new recipients, and another 420 are continuing recipients. Each recipient received financial assistance of around IDR 12 million per student.

To them, the Regent of Wonogiri conveyed the message that this scholarship is not just financial assistance — but a form education investment. The government hopes that the recipients will not only focus on studying, but will also be able to make a real contribution to the economy, development and improvement of human resources in Wonogiri.
